What it does

The price in your cart isn't what a K-beauty order costs. Shipping, free-shipping thresholds, tax added at checkout and import charges at the door all change the total, and which store comes out cheaper depends on your country and how much you buy. kbeautycost works out the delivered total at Olive Young (Olive Young Global, and OLIVE YOUNG US for the US), YesStyle and Stylevana for shoppers in the US, Canada, the UK and Australia.

Where the numbers come from

• Import rules from each government's own pages: US Customs and Border Protection and the Federal Register, the Canada Border Services Agency and Canada Revenue Agency, HMRC and GOV.UK, and the Australian Taxation Office and Australian Border Force.
• Shipping fees, free-shipping thresholds and tax at checkout from each store's own shipping and help pages.
• Sale dates and coupon terms from the stores' own promotion pages and press releases.
• Exchange rates from the European Central Bank's daily reference rates.

Every number has a "Last checked" line and a link to its source. When a store or a government doesn't publish something, such as a courier's clearance fee, the site says so and shows the total as "at least" instead of guessing.

What it isn't

The site isn't run by or connected to any of the stores. It gives general information, not tax or legal advice, and its totals are estimates: the store's checkout and your customs bill are what count.
